OpenBio is built on the principle that you own your health data. We exist to help you understand and share your health—not to monetize your information.
Our Core Commitments
- ✓We never sell your data. Your health information is not for sale—period.
- ✓You control visibility. Your analyses are private by default. You choose what to share.
- ✓Delete anytime. You can delete your account and all data at any time from Settings.
Data Handling
When you use our hosted service:
- All lab reports and biomarker data are encrypted at rest and in transit
- We use AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic) to extract biomarkers from your uploads. Your data is sent to these providers for processing; their retention policies apply (typically short-term for abuse prevention only). We do not send your data to train AI models.
- You can export your data at any time
- You can delete your account and all associated data, including uploaded files
Try Upload (Anonymous Analysis)
When you use our "Try Upload" feature without signing in:
- Your uploaded file is processed to extract biomarkers
- You can view your full results immediately—no account required
- Results are stored temporarily with an anonymous token
- To save results to your timeline, share, or comment, you must sign in
- If you don't sign in to claim results within 24 hours, the analysis and uploaded files are automatically deleted
- We apply stricter rate limits to prevent abuse (2 uploads per hour per IP)
Self-Hosting Option
For complete control over your data, you can self-host OpenBio. When you run your own instance, your data never leaves your infrastructure.
